Saturdays Football Bet of the Day sees me start off domestically in Belarus. Then I’m off to Russia and select my first pick of Euro 2020.
BATE Borisov vs Neman Grodno
🇧🇾 Vysheyshaya Liga
⏰ Saturday 12th June, 16:45
BATE host Neman Grodno on Saturday at the Borisov Arena. The hosts currently sit in 2nd place, 7 points behind last season’s champions Shakhytor. Neman Grodno on the other hand sit in 14th position and in the relegation playoff spot.
BATE recorded a comfortable 3-0 win last time out at home to 13th placed Slavia. That’s now 3 wins in a row for the Belarusian giants in which they scored 8 goals. BATE’s home form has been perfect so far this season as they’ve won all 7 games scoring 17 goals. 4 of those wins came against sides in 12th and below which they scored 9 goals in.
Neman have struggled so far this season winning only 7 points in 11 games. 6 of those points have been won from sides in 11th and below. Grodno have already lost all 3 games against fellow top 4 sides conceding 2 goals in all 3 of those defeats.
Belgium vs Russia
🇪🇺 Euro 2020
⏰ Saturday 12th June, 20:00
Belgium meets Russia on Saturday evening at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg, home of Russian champions Zenit. This will be both sides opening game of the group and while Belgium will be favourites, Russia have a home advantage.
Belgium qualified for Euro 2020 with ease winning all 10 games. They did so by scoring a remarkable 40 goals whilst conceding only 3. Two of those victories came against Russia in which the Red Devil’s ran out 3-1 victors at home and 1-4 in the same stadium they meet in on Saturday evening. Belgium have since won 5 of their 6 Nations League games and collected 7 points from their first 3 World Cup qualifiers.
Russia qualified for Euro 2020 by winning 8 of their 10 games to come second in their group. Saturday night opponents Belgium finished top as Russia succumb to 3-1 and 1-4 defeats. Russia only won 2 of their 6 Nations League games and finished off with a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Serbia. Russia grabbed 2 unconvincing wins away to Malta and at home to Slovenia in World Cup qualifying before losing 2-1 away to Slovakia.
Bet of the Day
Saturday sees me start off domestically in Belarus as BATE should keep up their 100% home record and comfortably defeat a struggling Neman Grodno. Then it’s off to neighbouring Russia for the Euros and despite having home advantage, I see Russia being outclassed by a talented Belgian side.
- BATE to win & over 1.5 goals
- Belgium to win
- Double Pays 1.88/1 (BoyleSports)
