It’s just a week before Open greyhound racing returns to Doncaster and continues on the schedule throughout June. On Wednesday, there is a fascinating graded card where there are a number who look backable propositions on a card that can be watched on MansionBet’s live streaming service.
Jaguar’s A3 Record is a Tipp in Itself
Four wins from his last seven starts at this A3 level is eye-catching form for Jaguar Tipp. Most graders will win, on average, once in every five to seven starts which makes his most recent body of work at this level impressive for Ricky Overton.
A strong-running wide-runner, he can stay out of trouble to time his challenge to perfection at 18.28.
Pearl to Pick up the Pieces
With a couple of out-and-gone frontrunners in the 18.43 potentially ruining one another’s race, things look like being set up for a closer. Louise Taylorson’s Abernathy Pearl fits the bill. She moved slightly left from five last week so the return to four is a potential plus.
A winner at the level above as recently as March, a repeat of her best will see her swoop late and fast.
Bellagio is a Beauty at this Level
Just run down in this grade last week, Bellagio Beauty can prove those losses only lent for those who sent her off the 6/5 favourite. Two grades higher than this earlier in the year, she looks well drawn to attack for June McCombe. She has solid early gears for this level so a slot between a pair of slower starters can see her lead up the inside trio and get herself on the bunny.
There is no improving puppy to pick her up as there was last time out and that early lead can be converted into victory at 19.56.
Wide Seed to Spring into Action
Better known as a sprinter, Springwood Diaz has taken well to the 450m trip for Janice Simpson. He is a consistent type on the clock, looking capable of leading up the outside runners at 20.54.
He kept on well last week having missed the kick a touch, finishing second in a solid time. A repeat of that and he should go one place better in this field.
Big Pup is one to Keep an Eye on
Brennans Lidbury is still officially a puppy for a few more days as a June ’19 whelp. He is a big boy, weighing in at almost 36kg’s. As such, he strikes as one who is going to keep on improving for a while yet.
He is yet to work out how to trap consistently but he showed impressive middle gears last week when third and can step up on that for Debbie Calvert in the 21.12.
