Sunday’s Bet of the Day sees me focus on the final day of Ligue 1 and on 2 sides who still have plenty to play for.
Angers vs Lille
🇫🇷 Ligue 1
⏰ Sunday 23rd May, 20:00
Massive game for Lille as they aim to dethrone PSG and win their first league title since 2011. Lille need to better PSG’s result but know a win will guarantee the Ligue 1 title. Angers meanwhile are safe and will remain a Ligue 1 team next season.
Angers come into this on a poor run of form where they’ve only won 1 of their last 9. That solitary win did come in their last home game but that was against already relegated Dijon. Angers have already lost all 3 games against the current top at home all by a 0-1 score line. All 9 of their home defeats this season have went under 4.5 goals.
Lille have been superb away from home this season winning 11 of their last 12 with a 0-0 with 3rd placed Monaco the only game they didn’t win. Lille have the best defence away from home keeping clean sheets in 53% of their games conceding only 11 goals. 10 of their 13 away wins this season have went under 4.5 goals.
Lyon vs Nice
🇫🇷 Ligue 1
⏰ Sunday 23rd May, 20:00
Lyon come into this knowing they need a win and home Monaco drop points away to Lens to qualify for the champions league qualifiers. 9th placed Nice have nothing to play for as they no longer can qualify for Europe.
Lyon have been on a good run of form winning 5 of their last 6 games scoring 19 goals. Lyon have scored 40 goals at home this season, only PSG and Monaco have scored more. 10 of Lyon’s 11 home wins this season have seen them score 2 or more goals.
Nice come into this losing 3 of their last 5 Ligue 1 games including their last 2 away. Nice have already lost all 4 games away to the top 5 conceding 2+ goals in all 4 of those defeats.
Bet of the Day
For me it’s all about Ligue 1 on Sunday as the season comes to a conclusion. Lille have a huge incentive knowing if they win they’ll guarantee themselves the title. Lyon need to win in order to qualify for the champions league qualifiers and hope Monaco drop points. With Monaco facing a tricky trip to 6th placed Lens, Lyon know they still have a good chance of overtaking Monaco if they defeat Nice.
- Lille to win & under 4.5 goals
- Lyon to win & over 1.5 goals
- Double pays (21/20) Bet Victor
