It’s been just over a week since the triumph and magic of Augusta National – The Masters had its first Asian-born winner and champion from Japan. The magnitude of Hideki Matsuyama’s victory will live long in our memories and golf folk law – not forgetting the respectful touch of class his caddy showed when replacing the 72-hole flag stick.
The players now move onto preparations for the 2nd major of the year, the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island. All eyes will be on Rory following his impressive demolishing performance back in 2012, but another noticeable name to look out for is the recent form of Jordan Spieth (14/1), who is also chasing his own piece of history to become the 5th player in history to win the golf grand slam.
The current world number one Dustin Johnson (10/1) is always in the conversation given his formidable ability to dominate tournaments. Others worthy of a mention are Brooks Koepka aka, ‘The Major Man’ in recent years, along with Justin Rose (40/1) who showed some good trending signs at Augusta. This could be because he’s recently teamed back up with Sean Foley who he worked on his swing mechanics with on route to becoming world number 1 some years ago. It will be an exciting watch either way so make sure to tune in.
