Sheffield Wednesday vs. Swansea 13/04/2021 Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds ✅

Sheffield Wednesday vs. Swansea 13/04/2021 Predictions, Betting Tips & Odds ✅

In a catch-up match of the 29th matchday in the second highest English league, Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea face each other on Tuesday evening. The odds suggest a close match, even though the Championship standings actually show a clear favourite.

While the home side are in second to last place and seven points off the bottom, the visitors from Wales have a very good chance of securing a place in the promotion play-offs. Should the Swans take three points in Sheffield during the week, their lead over seventh place would grow to a reassuring nine points.

Another positive for the promotion hopefuls is the fact that their four consecutive defeats without a goal finally came to an end at the weekend. The 3-0 win at Millwall gave the Swans plenty of confidence, so it’s easy to predict an away win between Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea on Tuesday.

Prediction & Live Odds for Sheffield Wednesday vs. Swansea 13/04/2021

Both Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea are fighting for important points on Tuesday evening in the catch-up game of the 29th matchday. The home side desperately need points to avoid relegation to League One. The Swans, on the other hand, want to improve their starting position in the battle for the play-offs and extend their lead over the competition.

Before the Sheffield Wednesday vs Swansea clash, the betting odds are narrowly in favour of the visitors, which is likely to be linked to the fact that the Owls have taken the majority of their points at home this season. However, it should not be forgotten that the pressure on the Blue and Whites increases from game to game.

In our eyes, the qualitative advantages lie with the Welsh side, whose drought also came to an end at the weekend. With the self-confidence from the 3-0 win at Millwall, we are confident that the Cooper team will do the same on Tuesday evening.

We therefore opt for the away win between Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea and get an attractive odds of 2.55. ✅

Sheffield Wednesday – Statistics & Current Form

Sheffield Wednesday have been a fixture in the English second division for nine years now. However, this long period could come to an end at the end of the current season. At the moment, there are many indications that the Owls will have to go down to the third division. With six games left to play, the Blue and Whites are seven points behind the save shore.

So you don’t need to be a prophet to say that coach Darren Moore’s side will have to play to win on Tuesday and, at best, keep all three points in their own stadium. Two of the crucial questions are therefore to what extent the relegation candidates will be able to cope with the pressure and whether the Welsh will be able to exploit the spaces that inevitably present themselves.

Sheffield Wednesday build on relative home strength

A small glimmer of hope is at least the decent home record. Sheffield Wednesday have won 27 of their 35 points at home. All in all, there have been more wins (seven) than draws or defeats (six each).

Nevertheless, the results should be treated with caution, as three of the last five home games were lost. Only against Cardiff City was there a surprisingly clear 5-0 victory, which is certainly one of the reasons why relatively high odds are offered on an away win between Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea.

Moreover, it should not be neglected that Coach Moore’s team, who has only been in charge since the beginning of March and has at least been able to stabilise the team somewhat, completely blew the dress rehearsal at the weekend.

The 1:4 defeat at Queens Park Rangers once again revealed the serious defensive weaknesses and the lack of quality needed to survive in the relegation battle. Nevertheless, not many changes are to be expected in the starting eleven due to a lack of alternatives.

Projected Sheffield Wednesday line-up:
Wildsmith; Harris, Lees, Borner; Palmer, Hutchinson, Bannan, Reach; Windass; Kachunga, Rhodes

Swansea – Statistics & Current Form

Former Premier League side Swansea City are aiming for a return to the Premier League in 2020/21. However, the task will be difficult, as direct promotion has become a distant prospect following the recent slump in form. The Welsh side could close the gap on the runners-up to eight points with a treble on Tuesday, but it is highly unlikely that Watford FC will let the right to compete in the top flight slip away.

Accordingly, it all boils down to the fact that the Swans will have to fight for the only remaining vacant place in the Premier League via the tough play-offs. In order to get a good starting position and home rights there, third place should be the best outcome. It was therefore all the more important for the white and black team to finally put an end to the ongoing slump at the weekend.

After four defeats in a row, in which Coach Cooper’s team did not even manage to score a single goal, the Swans won 3-0 at Millwall and showed great concentration. It is quite possible that the commanding success will once again release new energy and justify a bet on a three-goal win for the visitors between Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea.

Only Norwich won more away than the Swans

If we look at the away record of the current fourth-placed team in the Championship, it becomes clear that only leaders Norwich have celebrated more victories away from home than the showpiece club from Wales. In total, ten of the 20 away games were victorious. The defence was particularly convincing, conceding only 19 goals. Another interesting fact is that eight of the aforementioned ten victories in opposing stadiums were achieved with a clean sheet.

Because the Cooper eleven is under far less pressure and could benefit from the fact that the hosts have to take full risk, we think a success of the qualitatively stronger Swans, who landed a liberation strike at the weekend, is far more likely. The coach does not have many reasons to change his winning team. The promotion hopefuls will once again be hoping for the goalscoring prowess of Lowe, who, after 15 consecutive league games without a goal, was the match-winner at the weekend with a brace.

Predicted Swansea line-up:
Woodman; Naughton, Bennett, Guehi, Manning; Fulton, Grimes, Hourihane; Ayew, Routledge, Lowe.
