There’s plenty of jumps action to enjoy on Wednesday afternoon, with four meetings taking place across the UK and Ireland.

Our tipster has selections for each of the races on the seven-race Haydock card (12.30pm-3.47pm) on Wednesday afternoon.
12.30 – Join Racing TV Now Maiden Hurdle (1m7½f)
The obvious pair are Caddyhill and MACKELDUFF in this opening maiden hurdle. The former shaped nicely in three starts after joining this trainer from Ireland (twice second in maidens at Hereford and Southwell), before finding a Cheltenham novice well out of reach in December. Olly Murphy’s charge edges the verdict having offered plenty to work with in his Uttoxeter debut in November, where he finished fourth. That race has thrown up plenty winners since and this well-related sort should progress.

1.00 – Racing TV Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle (3m)
Uptown Lady readily won a Warwick novice (2m3f, heavy) at 40/1 early last month, but was already well held when she unseated Jonjo O’Neill Jr in a Grade 2 at Sandown next start. She should find this easier but FABLE is going the right way and may prove her equal for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville. She got off the mark at Huntingdon (2m4½f, soft) last month herself and makes plenty appeal as one with scope for better upped in trip.

1.30 – racingtv.com Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (2m4½f)
November’s Exeter winner L’air Du Vent needs to put behind him a couple of lesser efforts since, but is still capable of doing that for a Colin Tizzard team in better shape now than for most of the winter. A case can be made for most of these, with Keep Rolling and Informateur not passed over in haste, but maybe CAPTAIN BLACKPEARL can gain a second chasing success of the season in four attempts. He scored on good ground at Kempton in November and has run with credit in both starts since. He might well have added to the tally back there last month bar a late error and is one to remain onside with – especially if the rain stays away.

2.02 – Every Race Live On Racing Tv Handicap Hurdle (2m3f)
Song Of The Hunter has finished second in both recent starts, since joining Johnny Farrelly, and is shortlisted again, while Ey Up Rocky also holds valid claims. Things didn’t work out for THOR DE CERISY on his first attempt at this trip last month at Wincanton, his hold-up tactics failing to pay off in a race where the winner dominated from the front. Sean Bowen rides this track well and, on his only mount of the day, there could be a challenge forthcoming based on Thor De Cerisy’s earlier efforts this term.

2.37 – Old Boston Handicap Hurdle (3m)
March Is On has the talent for a prize like this and has dropped to a workable mark, but he lacks consistency and is therefore hard enough to trust – a sentiment that applies to plenty of these. Handicap debutant DRUMLEE GETAWAY has undergone wind surgery since last spotted 63 days ago and the winning point-to-pointer could be capable of the required improvement to land this.

3.12 – Tim Molony Handicap Chase (3m4½f)
Last-time-out Exeter winner Destinee Royale tackles this increased distance and is a key player with further improvement to come, but this is the sort of stamina-test Devon National winner SAMUEL JACKSON relishes. After missing last season, he’s back on track and both Exeter chase starts since the turn of the year make for good reading. He’s up 5lb but won’t be going down without a scrap here.

3.47 – Hermitage Green Standard Open NH Flat Race (2m)
Just four runners in the final race and MR GLASS makes solid appeal, despite carrying a penalty for December’s Wetherby win on heavy ground. He’d shown ability on debut and built on it there, easily dismissing a next-time-out winner in Parramount while the distant third Ritson also held up the form in Newcastle jumpers’ bumper. Paul Nicholls’ charge can take care of Blairgowrie, though the Nicky Henderson-trained son of Yeats is expected to have learned plenty from his Warwick debut third in early December.
