Mark Walker is on hand to preview this weekend’s best bets in Scotland including three bets where he thinks the bookies can be taken on.
Ross County v Kilmarnock
KILMARNOCK can finally end their run without a win in what could be a massive six-pointer at Ross County.
Tommy Wright has shown signs of beginning to put his stamp on Killie, who were on a desperate run of eight defeats in a row before they stopped the rot last week against Dundee United with a share of the points.
Killie were by far the better side last week and only bad luck prevented them from taking all three points. The signing of Kyle Lafferty could yet prove to be a masterstroke for the Ayrshire men, who are desperate to get out of trouble.
John Hughes will have his side fired up for it, but curiously, County seem to do better against the bigger teams – they’ve beaten Celtic, Hibs and Aberdeen recently – than the teams around them.
The Rugby Park side have been getting backed this week and you can see why.
Motherwell v Livingston
MOTHERWELL look hugely overpriced at 12/5 at home against a Livingston side who have suffered two major disappointments in four days.
The Fir Park side must have picked up a ton of confidence by deservedly beating an off-colour Hibs last week at Easter Road and what had been a lengthy injury list appears to be clearing for new boss Graham Alexander.
David Martindale’s side lost last week’s League Cup Final to St Johnstone and followed that up with a demoralising last gasp defeat at home to Rangers.
After that remarkable 14-game unbeaten run spell, they have now gone five games without a win and picked up just one draw in that run.
With home advantage too, Motherwell just look too big a price to be ignored.
Alloa Atheltic v Inverness Caledonian Thistle
ALLOA are another big price at 13/5 when they host Caley Thistle at their Indodrill Stadium.
Inverness would have been looking for a new manager bounce when interim boss Neil McCann took charge, but they went down to a limp defeat at his former club Dundee in midweek.
And they have now won just one game in 10, yet are odds-on favourites to beat an Alloa side they could only draw 2-2 at home with 11 days ago.
The Wasps are hardly in a great run themselves to be fair, but they have a habit of pulling off big results especially at home and a win here would get them to within three points of ICT.
Recommended Bets
- Kilmarnock 13/8
- Motherwell 12/5
- Alloa 13/5
