Atletico Madrid saw their lead at the top of La Liga cut to just five points following last weekend’s home draw with Celta Vigo, but they will be confident of returning to winning ways at Granada on Saturday.
That clash forms part of what will be another action-packed weekend in the Spanish top-flight, with a total four matches taking place on Saturday and the same amount on Sunday.
League Leaders to Outgun Opponents
Most of Atleti’s impressive results this season have been built on their solid backline and Diego Simeone’s side still boast the best defensive record in La Liga, conceding just 12 goals from their 20 games to date.
However, exactly half of those goals have been conceded in their last four games, including two as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium last time out.
The league leaders also conceded two in their last away fixture at Cadiz, but they still won that game 4-2 and it could be a similar kind of result against a Granada side that have only won once in six games across all competitions, although they did score three in their last home fixture against Barcelona.
Saturday’s hosts have also scored in three of their last five meetings with Atleti, so backing an away win with both teams to score could prove the way to go at 16/5.
More Away Success for Sociedad
Real Sociedad have been impressive on the road this season, as they have accumulated more La Liga points on their travels than at the Anoeta, losing just three of their 11 away games to date.
That run includes impressive victories at Real Betis, Celta Vigo and Athletic Bilbao and they could add Getafe to that list when they visit the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Sunday.
Getafe are certainly in the midst of a difficult run, as they have taken just one point and scored a solitary goal from their last four league games, while they have only won once on home soil since the middle of October.
Given that run, backing a Sociedad win would seem good value at 11/10.
Levante to Round Off Good Week in Style
Levante put themselves on the cusp of history during the week, as they claimed a 1-1 draw away at Athletic Bilbao in the first-leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final tie and they are now on the cusp of reaching the final of that competition for the very first time.
That draw also forms part of what has been an impressive run for Paco Lopez’ side, as they are unbeaten in 10 matches across all competitions and have only lost one of their last 15.
Real Madrid are also the only side to have beaten Levante on their own patch this term, with the Ciutat de Valencia having been turned into a fortress over recent months.
That reputation shouldn’t come under too much threat against an Osasuna side that have failed to win any of their last 10 La Liga games on the road, taking just four points during that time, with a Levante win seeming good value at 7/5.
