Norwich City will hope to extend their lead at the top of the Championship table when they play host to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Having suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, it appears as though manager Daniel Farke and his side are ready to make a swift return to the top flight.
Norwich Soaring After Setback
It looked as though Norwich were stuttering in their race for the Championship title after they suffered defeat to Watford before a draw against Queens Park Rangers.
However, the East Anglia outfit have responded well and have since secured wins over Barnsley, Cardiff City and Bristol City to pull six points clear at the top of the table going into the weekend’s matches.
Saturday’s opponents Middlesbrough, after a tough campaign in the second tier last season, still harbour hopes of a playoff place this year but they have not made things easy for themselves after three defeats in their last four Championship games.
A 3-0 hammering on home soil at the hands of strugglers Rotherham United will have come as a particular shock to manager Neil Warnock and his players at the Riverside.
Warnock has looked to strengthen in the January transfer window, with winger Yannick Bolasie and right-back Darnell Fisher joining the club.
It will take the pair a while to get up to full speed in a new system under and it’s hard to see Boro getting back to winning ways at Carrow Road this weekend.
Norwich are 20/23 to make it four wins on the spin as they edge a step closer to a Premier League return.
Swans to Shut Out Millers
Swansea’s mean defence will fancy their chance of keeping Rotherham off the scoresheet when the pair meet at the New York Stadium on Saturday.
The Swans, who currently reside in second place in the standings, have only conceded an impressive 14 goals in their 25 games in the Championship this season.
That mean defence shone earlier this term when Swansea shut out Rotherham 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium back in November.
Steve Cooper’s side can do the same again this weekend in South Yorkshire and are 12/5 to win to nil.
Bees Can Continue Table Climb
Brentford are firmly in the mix for the automatic promotion places once again and Thomas Frank’s side will be determined to finally get a win in 90 minutes over Wycombe Wanderers this season.
The two teams have already squared off twice in 2020-21, with Wycombe holding Brentford to a goalless draw in the Championship after losing to the Bees on penalties in the Carabao Cup, having also met in pre-season.
Home advantage should see Brentford over the line but expect the visitors to have their moments in this game.
The Bees have occasioanlly appeared sloppy in defence this season and have conceded 22 goals in 24 league outings this term.
Brentford should have the extra quality to pick up all three points in this one, and the hosts are 33/20 to win and both teams to score.
