RANGERS have drifted to win the Old Firm showdown, but they look a solid shout to score at least twice against Celtic on Saturday at odds-against.
A draw is probably good enough to very much keep the Ibrox side in the title race ascendency and that may be putting a few punters off backing them outright.
But with a strikeforce of the excellent Kemar Roofe, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos who, by the law of averages will surely break a 13-game Old Firm goal drought at some time, they look good value to breach that leaky Hoops defence.
Celtic have improved marginally, but it’s hard to get carried away by any real resurgence. With a keeper with poppadom hands for every big game reinstated too, it’s tricky to see how Celtic can be confident of keeping a clean sheet. They still appear to be particularly vulnerable at corners too.
Neil Lennon has pinned his hopes on David Turnbull and Ismaila Soro to win a midfield battle they’ve lost in Old Firm games consistently recently.
But Rangers still look stronger and can score a couple against the champions.
AIRDRIE have clicked recently and they can keep their fine recent run going with a win at Dumbarton.
Ian Murray’s side have really impressed recently with a huge win at Falkirk followed by a demolition of Clyde at Broadwood.
They are up against Jim Duffy’s Sons who look in a precarious position already after a desperate recent run of form.
Dumbarton have won just once in their last eight games and that 1-0 win against Cove Rangers was also their only goal in their last seven matches.
Montrose spanked them 4-0 in their last game and the Diamonds will be confident of having the firepower to add to their misery.
French import Thomas Robert has grabbed the headlines for Airdrie with performances that have linked him with a move to the Old Firm, but Dale Carrick has also chipped in with seven goals this season and is a real threat.
ST MIRREN really impressed against Rangers in midweek and can win at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock.
Few teams have had the possession against the Ibrox side that the Saints enjoyed in midweek and if Jon Obika had taken an early chance they could have repeated their League Cup triumph.
They lost to a deflection and a poor passback and will fancy their chance against a Killie side who had been in freefall until their surprise midweek win at Motherwell.
And the Paisley side look a nice price to win in Ayrshire.
