Everton can Bounce Back at Burnley

04/12/2020 admin

The Premier League offers up four intriguing fixtures on Saturday with crucial points up for grabs at both ends of the table.

Everton Out to Strengthen European Claims

Carlo Ancelotti was very clear in his ambition to turn Everton into at least a top-six outfit this season and the early signs were extremely positive.

Everton sat top of the Premier League after drawing with Liverpool on October 17, boasting an impressive 13 points from their opening five games.

However, they have fallen away over recent weeks and head to Burnley for Saturday’s 12:30 kick off in desperate need of a win, having earned just three points from their last five fixtures.

A trip to Burnley could be just the tonic for the Toffees with Sean Dyche’s side struggling in 19th spot following a terrible start.

They have won just once and Everton, who can be backed at 1/1, offer plenty of value for punters looking to get involved in the first Premier League game of the weekend.

Goals Expected at the Etihad

Manchester City have struggled for consistency in 2020-21 but should secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they welcome Fulham to the Etihad.

Last weekend’s 5-0 triumph over Burnley on home soil should serve as a serious warning to Fulham ahead of the 15:00 clash.

Fulham have shown some fight over recent weeks, winning two of their last four engagements, but they still have major issues defensively and have shipped more goals than any other side in the league.

City ran out 4-0 winners when hosting Fulham in the FA Cup in January and have scored 19 goals without reply over the last five meetings against the Cottagers at the Etihad.

Another high-scoring victory should be on the cards this weekend and backing a City win by a three-goal margin appeals at 3/1.

United Are the Comeback Kings

Manchester United haven’t put a foot wrong on the road in the Premier League this season, winning all four of their outings, and they haven’t lost away from Old Trafford since a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool in January.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be keen to see the Red Devils extend their winning run when they go to West Ham in the 17:30 fixture on Saturday.

Despite picking up the maximum points in their away engagements this term, they haven’t made easy work of it.

They have come from behind in all four matches and are attractively priced at 6/1 to repeat that feat at the London Stadium.

Leeds Looking to Frustrate Title Contenders

Chelsea could end Saturday’s round of fixtures top of the Premier League table if they earn all three points at home to Leeds in the 20:00 clash.

They start the weekend three points adrift of Liverpool and Tottenham, who sit second and first respectively, after enjoying an eight game unbeaten run.

Their only defeat in 2020-21 came on home soil when defending champions Liverpool visited in September, while they have dropped points when drawing with Tottenham and Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

On paper, Chelsea, who spent big over the summer, should have far too much for Leeds. However, the newly-promoted side have performed admirably on the road this season.

Leeds have claimed nine of their 14 points away from Elland Road, beating Sheffield United, Aston Villa and Everton so far.

Backing Leeds to win at 21/4, something they haven’t achieved at Chelsea since 1999, could be a stretch but they look a decent option at 31/20 in the double chance market.
