With the Quarterfinals out of the way, we now move into the Semi-finals of the Flashpoint Season 2 Finals. This guide will highlight the Upper Bracket Final and Lower Bracket Rounds 2 & 3. Taking place on the Friday and Saturday, Flashpoint Series 2 is looking to end on a bang.
Virtus.pro v Fnatic
After a 2-1 victory over BIG, Virtus.pro has set themselves up nicely for the Upper Bracket final. Having had a good run before losing out to OG 2-1 in the Grand Final of Group C. Thankfully for Virtus.pro, they’ve shown up when it mattered. Taking down MAD Lions and BIG in 2-1 victory. Now though, Virtus.pro comes up against Fnatic which will be a true test of this roster staying power at the event. Of course, if Virtus.pro do drop the series they will be given a second chance in the Lower Bracket Final, which will see them face off against either MIBR, MAD Lions, BIG or OG. The result of which will be down to just two of those sides by the time they face Fnatic. Virtus.pro can be picked up at 5/9
favourites to win the series.
After picking up their fourth victory in a row, Fnatic comes into the series in some solid form. Despite that, we have them as 27/20
outsiders to take down Virtus.pro. So far at Flashpoint Series 2, they’ve beaten c0ntact 2-1, Dignitas 2-0 and MAD Lions 2-0 in a Grand Final, getting revenge for their loss to the MAD Lions early in the group. In Playoffs, Fnatic has continued to show up. Taking down Dignitas 2-1 and MIBR 2-0 to set up this thrilling Upper Bracket Final.
MIBR V MAD Lions
After dropping the series 2-0 against Fnatic, MIBR will need to bounce back fast if they want to take the Flashpoint Season 2 title. With matches against either BIG or OG in the next round, the Brazilian roster will need to find their form fast. Like Virtus.pro above, MIBR finished their group in second place, losing to their potential next round opponent BIG 2-1. Having beaten OG in the Upper Bracket, MIBR will be hoping they can do them a favour and beat BIG. Though, they’ll have to get past MAD Lions first. MIBR are outsiders at 6/5
.
MAD Lions come into the series as 5/8
favourites having lost to Virtus.pro in the Upper Bracket, they swept aside Team Envy 2-0 to set up this series against MIBR. MAD Lions had a solid start to their event, beating both Dignitas (2-0) and Fnatic (2-1) to make it to the Grand Final of Group A. Sadly for MAD Lions, Fnatic would get revenge and take them down 2-0 in the final. MAD will need to show their early grit yet again if they want to set up against Fnatic again, a side they’ll need to overcome once more if they’re able to advance.
BIG v OG
After a 2-1 loss to Virtus.pro in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. BIG will need a big performance against OG. The German roster of BIG do, however, face a tough ask in OG. The side dropped into the lower bracket after a loss to MIBR, however, they’ve already knocked out Dignitas in a 2-0 victory, meaning they have some fight left in them yet. BIG come into the series at (4/6
) and will be hoping to advanced to face off against the winner of MAD Lions v MIBR
As for OG, as we mentioned above, they started their life in the lower bracket well. Sweeping aside Dignitas 2-0. After losing in the first round to outsiders MIBR, OG needed to bounce back fast if they wanted to spare their blushes and hold onto a top 10 seeding in the global CS:GO rankings. For this series, we have them at (23/20
) to take down the German BIG roster, and they’ll need to bring their A-game having already lost to BIG in Flashpoint Season 2.
