THE FA Cup first round dominates the card on Saturday and if you know your Marine from your Cray Valley you could be quids in.
Thirteen ties out of 40 are live on BBC including last night’s between Harrogate vs Skelmersdale and today’s featuring FC United vs Doncaster.
Thirty two non-league clubs have joined League One and League Two clubs in the first round and four are guaranteed a place in the second round with ties between Bromley vs Yeovil, Brackley Town vs Bishop’s Stortford, Banbury United vs Canvey Island and Havant & Waterlooville vs Cray Valley Paper Mills. Remember there are no replays with drawn games going straight to penalties.
Skelmersdale and FC United are among 10 non-elite teams to make the first round and under lockdown rules in England they can’t train so that’s got to be a disadvantage. Other sides are Banbury United, Maldon & Tiptree, Hayes & Yeading, South Shields, Marine, Bishop’s Stortford, Canvey Island and Cray Valley.
I’m not an expert on English non-league teams so will be relying on others for tips, guys such as HullShaker, so watch out on the comments section.
However, looking at the odds sides I’d take a chance on Bradford at Tonbridge, Cheltenham at home to South Shields and Port Vale at home to Kings Lynn.
In matches between league sides Sunderland should see off Mansfield and if Peterborough go full strength they should win at Oxford.
My focus is on the Premier League and Scottish lower leagues while there are also English Championship matches but none in the Scottish top flight until Sunday.
Game of the day is Everton vs Man United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer really needs some sort of result. Everton are missing some key men but look big at 2-1.
I’ve posted a Premier League preview and Scottish football preview where my two trebles are reasoned and I’ll add a goals treble in the morning.
We have the usual tips from Desmond, Damian Walker, Mark Walker, SlipsTips and Scott Allot.
Scott has also posted European both to score tips and European tips from Germany, Spain and Portugal.
And check out all our match previews.
Well done to all the winners on Friday including HullShaker with some good insight on the Harrogate game, Mark Walker with Aberdeen and SlipTips with a full house on the Southampton game.
