THERE was some thrilling Europa League action and well done to everyone who profited on James Tavernier’s goal for Rangers.
Scott and others tipped the skipper to net first at 10-1 while Kevin Mac backed a penalty to be scored in his match preview and I suggested him to notch any time at 14-5.
Right at the death Kemar Roofe stole his team-mate’s thunder with one of the best goals you’ll see. Roofe beat three men and thundered a shot over the Standard Liege keeper’s head from inside his own half. It wasn’t just a lob – it was absolute rocket.
As expected Celtic went down at home to Milan but there were wins for Arsenal, Leicester and Spurs.
My double won at 8-5 thanks to Milan and Rangers not to lose and my 3-1 Top Treble also landed thanks to Arsenal, Molde and Leverkusen.
But the Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score Super Single was a loser and LASK let down the both to score treble so it was a mixed night.
Big applause for all the winners on a busy night and it looks like it was a pretty good one.
On Friday there is some decent action with Aston Villa facing Leeds in the Premier League and Hearts heading to Arbroath in the Scottish Premiership.
We have the Nottingham Forest vs Derby derby in the Championship and games in La Liga, the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue One.
Villa should be confident of winning but it’s not a given against a Leeds side who have showed their quality while the Forest game is a tough one to call.
Hearts opened with a 6-2 thrashing of Dundee while Arbroath lost 3-0 at Raith to it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell you why the Jambos are hot favourites.
The one thing that could cause an upset is the weather over Gayfield, a ground that sticks out into the North Sea and is often battered by wind and rain.
Forecast for Friday night is showers and a moderate breeze or in other words cold and miserable.
However, Hearts should have the experience to get the job done and they looked a quality side against Dundee. Hearts are on my Top Treble at 4-9 and my Super Single is Hearts and over 2.5 goals at 6-5 with McBookie.
There are several options when looking at scorers with Northern Ireland international Liam Boyce the favourite but Stephen Kingsley looks overpriced at 9-2 with McBookie to net at anytime. The former Swansea man rattled in two thunderbolts against Dundee yet is 16-1 to break the deadlock.
Sassuolo have been a team on the rise for a few years now and their games have generally been goal laden. It should be no different when Torino pay a visit.
Sassuolo have netted four in each of their last three games while Torino’s last two have been 3-2 and 4-2 defeats. Back over 2.5 goals at around 1-2. Five of the last six on the h2h have brought up btts.
Complete the treble with both to score at Rennes vs Angers at just under evens. Rennes’ have seen btts in four our of five and Angers in their last four but on the h2h this hasn’t been a high scorer which explains the decent odds.
In Germany Stuttgart should beat a Cologne side who have started poorly after promotion with just one point in four games.
Super Single
- Hearts & over 2.5 goals
- (6-5, McBookie)
Top Treble
- Hearts
- Sassuolo vs Torino over 2.5 goals
- Rennes vs Angers btts (8pm)
- (3-1, Betfred)
