HEARTS kicked off the lower-league season on Friday and it’s great to welcome back football outside the Premiership.
Let’s hope the season can be completed and many people doubt the chances of that happening.
Bookies though will have learned their lesson on how to handle antepost bets if leagues are called or abandoned so there should be fair play for all.
Hearts are a short price to win the Championship and it’s tough to bet against them but Dundee look a decent shout without the favourites at 6-4 with McBookie.
Partick Thistle are the League One jollies at 11-10 ahead of 2-1 Falkirk but I’d rather be on Cove Rangers each way at 9-2.
I backed the Highlanders to win League Two and they would have done so in style if the campaign had been completed.
Cove will score loads of goals and should be challenging at the right end of the table if they can tighten up at the back.
In League Two everyone’s on a Queen’s Park side that’s been backed in to 1-3 after a string of high-profile signings.
The Hampden men boast an array of stars with top-flight experience including keeper Cammy Bell, striker Simon Murray, Craig Slater, Bob McHugh and Lee Kilday.
In today’s games I’m on Falkirk to win at a Montrose side they defeated away twice last season, Cove to make a winning League One start at home to East Fife and Queen’s to show their class at Stirling.
