Russell Wilson has blown away the opposition through the first four weeks of the season to help the Seattle Seahawks make a 4-0 start and will be looking forward to a meeting with a struggling Minnesota Vikings side on Sunday.
The Seahawks are the 7/2 favourites to win the ultra-competitive NFC Conference Championship after flying out of the traps, scoring 30 points or more in every game to date.
Having previously had a reputation as a run-first team, Seattle head coach Pete Carroll has moved away from that mantra and given Wilson more freedom to let loose, producing tremendous results.
Wilson is on pace for an historic season having already thrown for 1,285 yards and 16 touchdowns through four weeks, and ‘Mr Unlimited’ should add a few more TD passes to his tally when Minnesota visit CenturyLink Field.
Viking Raiders Defenceless to Stop Seattle
The 1-3 Vikings got off the mark for the year with victory over the Houston Texans last weekend but the defence still gave up 23 points and 300 passing yards to Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.
With Minnesota having given up the fifth-most passing yards this year, their best hope could be to fight fire-with-fire, with the offence having looked better in recent weeks thanks to the work of star running back Dalvin Cook.
However, even if Cook can get the ground game going it might still not be enough for the Vikings, who are seven-point underdogs at 20/23.
With Wilson 6-0 in his career against the Vikings and the Seahawks covering the point spread in all four games so far this season, they appeal at 50/51 on the handicap.
Colts and Browns to Butt Heads
The Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts have both given themselves a shot at the playoffs this year with 3-1 starts and will face off on the shores of Lake Erie in what should be a tight game.
The Browns racked up 49 points in their win at Dallas last week but will struggle to be as effective against a Colts side that has conceded less than 10 points on average through the last three weeks.
The Colts have the No.1 ranked defence entering Week Five, giving up the fewest passing yards and fourth-fewest rushing yards. That defence has carried the team with the offence looking far from fluid – off-season acquisition Philip Rivers having shown signs of regression at quarterback.
The Browns strength has been their rushing attack, which has averaged over 204 yards per game. However, they are missing first-choice running-back Nick Chubb this week and that could slow them down.
With both sides possessing strong defences and limited offences, this could be a low-scoring encounter with under 49 points priced at 25/28.
Dallas Desperate for Get Right Game
After being billed as potential Super Bowl contenders, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in deep trouble at 1-3 ahead of the visit of NFC East rivals, the winless New York Giants.
While quarterback Dak Prescott and the offence are performing well, putting up the most passing yards and third-most touchdowns, the defence can’t stop anyone.
They could catch a break this week though against the lowest-scoring offence in the NFL, the Giants having managed a miserly 47 points in four games.
Big Blue did play the LA Rams tough last week but were cost a chance at victory by silly mistakes on offence once more.
This is a game Dallas must win and they should have enough in their arsenal to keep the Giants at arm’s length and cover the -8.5 spread at 25/27, while under 52.5 points at 25/27 also appeals given the visitors to AT&T Stadium are averaging less than 12 points per game.
