AT the start of the season we were promised more penalties thanks to a combination of VAR and a change to the handball rule.
Punters who bet on spot-kicks have been doing well and on Sunday there was a controversial one for Newcastle then Rangers were awarded two for handballs.
And later in a remarkable 5-2 win for Leicester at Man City the Foxes were given three penalties for more conventional offences.
Well done to all those tipping penalties and after some of the comments about Rangers waiting for their first award in the league this season I backed James Tavernier to score first at 9-1.
There are two Premier League games on Monday – Fulham vs Aston Villa and Liverpool vs Arsenal – and penalties in both pays just over 7-1 with bet365.
Individually a pen at Craven Cottage pays 11-5 at boylesports while one in the big game at Anfield is 2-1 at bet365.
Liverpool vs Arsenal could be a thriller and I expect a home win with both scoring while Villa could edge out Fulham.
SlipTips has posted predictions and a match preview for Liverpool vs Arsenal.
Elsewhere there’s not much else on the go but Bologna face Parma in Serie A and there are matches in Portugal, Belgium and Turkey.
And finally well done to The Caddy who had two places at the Irish Open thanks to Joakim Lagergren at 40-1 and Aaron Rai at 50-1.
