IT was a bit of a depressing day with news fans’ attendance at sporting events would be delayed further.
For me football and other sports aren’t the same without supporters and it almost puts me off betting.
Luckily though I put up a Top Treble on Tuesday and it landed at 27-10 thanks to West Ham, Salzburg and Krasnodar.
Later West Ham announced boss David Moyes and a couple of players had tested positive on the same day Orient vs Spurs fell victim to the pandemic so more bad news there.
Football for now carries on with three more Champions League qualifiers and eight more Carabao Cup ties.
In Europe it’s Molde vs Ferencvaros, Gent vs Dynamo Kiev and Olympiakos vs Omonia Nicosia and remember these are two-legged ties with a place in the group stage at stake.
Ferencvaros have been surprise guys beating Celtic and Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 in one-off games and while Molde are favourites we could see both scoring here.
I fancy Dynamo to take care of Gent over two games while Olympiakos are fairly short and should beat their rivals at home.
There were plenty of goals in the EFL Cup on Wednesday and almost every team made wholesale changes as expected. That makes results tough to call and Newport beat Watford while Brentford knocked out West Brom on penalties.
Ties include Chelsea vs Barnsley, Leicester vs Arsenal, Fleetwood vs Everton and Morecambe vs Newcastle.
Going for another Top Treble with both to score at Molde and Leicester and over 2.5 goals at Chelsea.
Well done to all the winners on Tuesday and good luck on Wednesday.
Top Treble
- Molde vs Ferencvaros (8pm)
- Leicester vs Arsenal btts
- Chelsea vs Barnsley over 2.5 goals
- (19-5, William Hill)
