THE opening day of the Premier League promised a lot and it didn’t disappoint.
I said I was looking forward to Liverpool vs Leeds but never anticipated a seven-goal thriller.
Mo Salah won it 4-3 for the champions late on but what a game that was. Two things are clear – Liverpool’s defence needs some work but if they can score one more than their rivals Jurgen Klopp won’t matter too much.
And on this evidence Leeds look a really good side that can hold their own in the top flight with a mid-table finish.
Sunday’s two Premier League games are West Brom vs Leicester and Spurs vs Everton and they’ve got a lot to live up to.
I fancy Leicester to get back on track with a win but Spurs vs Everton could be a stalemate.
Both matches are previewed on the site so check them out.
Kevin Mac has predictions for West Brom vs Leicester including a 5-2 single involving VAR.
And SlipsTips has predictions for Spurs vs Everton including an 11-2 single.
Day one of any season is always tough so well done to all the winners on Saturday.
Kevin Mac, SlipsTips, Mark Walker and Damian Walker had some success while I started my £10 to £1000 Challenge with a 23-20 winner thanks to Norwich. Check out my latest pick here.
As well as the Premier League there are matches in Spain, France and Holland and of course the Championship game between Ipswich and Wigan.
I tipped Lens not to lose to PSG last week and the French champions are again without most of their stars including Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel di Maria for a visit from Marseille who look worth backing not to lose or draw no bet and it’s the Super Single
So not as much to look at on Sunday but I’ll pick out a couple of bets later.
Super Single
- Marseille draw no bet (8pm)
- (14-5, betfair)
