Our tipster marks your card for today’s action from the Scottish venue.
1.00 – Start Your Career With Scottish Racing Academy Maiden Auction Stakes (7f)
Not the strongest contest on paper. Bulls Eye for an in-form yard and Wrecked It Ralph have shown promise in their efforts so far but nothing standout. Newcomer MASTER ZOFFANY wouldn’t have to be a star in the making to land this for Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan and the trainer does well at this circuit.
Tip: Master Zoffany – 11/2
1.30 – Scottish Racing Academy Now Recruiting Students Handicap Division 1 (7f)
The form of Iain Jardine’s horses is impressive lately and REELY BONNIE improved nicely on first start in handicaps to win going away at Ayr over 6f last month. She’s up 6lb but should have more to offer at this longer distance. Dandy’s Angel also won last time while Yukon Mission looked unlucky at Pontefract; their presence should make some value for the selection.
Tip: Reely Bonnie – 11/4
2.00 – Scottish Racing Academy Now Recruiting Students Handicap Division 1 (7f)
First-time cheekpieces appeared to uncover some improvement in LADY CALCARIA at Haydock this month as she stuck on gamely to be second over 6f. That form has been franked since with the third scoring and, with this longer trip seemingly in favour judging on the way she finished the race, Tim Easterby’s challenger can go one better with the headgear retained.
Tip: Lady Calcaria – 11/4
2.30 – British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes (5f)
Digital and SIGNIFICANTLY boast the most experience and set a fair standard. Kevin Ryan’s charge has been second in all three starts so far, his latest effort Thirsk franked by the winner finished third in the Lowther and fourth winning since. Karl Burke’s charge though is preferred after backing up his second in Listed Sandown contest with a pleasing run the Group 3 Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood.
Tip: Significantly – 8/15
3.30 – Upskill Your Job With Scottish Racing Academy Handicap (5f)
Anthony Brittain’s string are starting to find their feet and MUTABAAHY looked a little unlucky when closing fast at Chester last week having encounter some traffic problems on the Roodee. Victorious on the all-weather at Newcastle in June, the Oasis Dream gelding is only 3lb higher than that mark now and appeals after his latest effort.
Tip: Mutabaahy – 10/1
4.05 – Racing Welfare Supporting Racing’s Workforce Handicap (1m4½f)
A dual course winner in 2016, including over this trip, HILLGROVE ANGEL has returned from a year on the sidelines and quickly found stride for trainer Jim Goldie. He was third at Ayr last week over this distance on ground probably softer than ideal on his second run back. With his claiming rider taking off 5lb; he should have each-way claims.
Tip: Hillgrove Angel – 8/1
4.35 – Racing Welfare For All Of Racing’s People Handicap (2m)
THREE CASTLES finished second behind a rival in form over 1m5f here late last month and, from the same mark, is worth chancing for the in-form Keith Dalgleish yard today. He had some promising form over hurdles last year and should have no trouble staying this trip as such.
Tip: Three Castles – 8/1
