The race for promotion hots up on Tuesday night as West Bromwich Albion host fellow automatic hopefuls Fulham with five points between them in the Championship table.
The result at The Hawthorns could have huge implications on the race for promotion, with second-placed West Brom facing fourth-placed Fulham.
Slaven Bilic’s side can return to the top of the Championship table on goal difference with a win, with leaders Leeds United not in action until Thursday while third-placed Brentford do not play until Wednesday.
Tuesday’s clash offers a big opportunity for both sides to turn up the heat as a victory for Fulham could see them climb into third, going into the game having won four in a row to boost their chances.
West Brom are in decent if not winning form as they are unbeaten in four games, and there is a distinct possibility that these two evenly-matched sides could cancel each other out, with the draw available at odds of 12/5
.
Playoff Race Gathering Momentum
Fellow promotion rivals Cardiff City and Derby County are also in action, with both teams still able to finish in the playoff places.
Cardiff occupy sixth but Derby can move level on points with their opponents by securing the win in Wales on Tuesday, and they are 43/20
to do so.
Championship Strugglers in Action
At the opposite end of the table, Middlesbrough will travel to Reading, while Luton Town host Queens Park Rangers.
Neil Warnock has managed to win two games since he replaced Jonathan Woodgate in the Boro hotseat, but three defeats have kept his side in relegation trouble.
The Teessiders are only two points above the drop zone, but face a Reading side with very little to play for, with the Royals eight points away from the play-off positions, and the visitors are 27/20
favourites to win.
Strugglers Luton are also odds against to beat fellow London club QPR. The Hatters are three points from safety, but Nathan Jones’ side have given themselves a fighting chance.
Luton have lost just one of their last seven games, and it could go down to the wire at the bottom end of the Championship.
The Hatters though have lost their last three league games to QPR by a 2-3 scoreline, and a repeat of that is on offer at 28/1
.
Hull City are also set to play Wigan Athletic on Tuesday, with the Tigers in the bottom three after three successive defeats.
Grant McCann’s men are 22nd as it stands, but a win could lift them as high as 19th, should results go their way.
One Last Push for Millwall
Like Derby County, Millwall still have a great chance of reaching the playoffs as they prepare to welcome Blackburn Rovers to The Den.
The Lions sit ninth, two points behind sixth-placed Cardiff, but Tuesday’s game will be tough.
Blackburn have bounced back in recent days to go on a two-match unbeaten run, and they could also still mathematically finish sixth.
Millwall are without a win in eight against Blackburn in the league, and they are 5/1
to finish in the top six.
Yorkshire rivals go head to head
Tuesday also sees two Yorkshire sides collide at Hillsborough as Sheffield Wednesday host Huddersfield Town.
While the Owls sit in mid-table, Huddersfield are panicking after no wins in three.
Danny Cowley’s side are 20th and could drop into the bottom three if they lose, with Wednesday 6/4
favourites to heap more misery on the Terriers.
