European hopes are on the line at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Monday’s Premier League offering, when Spurs play host to Everton in a 20:00 kick-off.
Spurs head into this contest on the back of a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United and Jose Mourinho’s men are languishing down in 10th position, 12 points adrift of Chelsea in fourth.
As for Everton, they have won their last two games, extending their unbeaten run to three matches, and a win would see them leapfrog Tottenham and Burnley into ninth position.
The Toffees are certainly making big strides under Carlo Ancelotti, who has been getting the best out of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and they could well be worth a punt at odds of 57/20
* to claim the spoils on Monday night.
Since taking charge at Goodison Park in December last year, the Italian tactician has lost just three of his 14 Premier League games in charge and big things are expected from the club next season.
Spurs Have Excellent Record Versus Everton
While Tottenham may not be in the greatest form of form, they do have a fantastic record against Everton and the north London outfit are unbeaten in the last 14 meetings.
During that impressive run, Spurs have racked up 6-2, 4-0, and 3-0 victories, but it is unlikely another wide-margin win will be recorded against a more resolute Toffees side.
Goals have been a major part of this fixture in recent years with 28 scored across the past seven meetings and backing over 2.5 goals for Monday’s encounter could be the route to go down.
Both sides’ are facing some selection issues ahead of kick-off, with Spurs midfielder Dele Alli doubtful for the clash while Juan Foyth and Japhet Tanganga remain sidelined.
Everton are without Fabian Delph, Theo Walcott, Cenk Tosun and Jean-Philippe Gbamin for the clash, but Djibril Sidibe and Richarlison are expected to be available for selection.
Goal Scorers in Form
One player that is in good form at the moment is Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who has bagged two goals in his last two starts to take his season tally to 13, and he will be leading the line again.
The 26-year-old has scored eight goals from the last six meetings against the Toffees and he looks a good bet at 5/4
to score anytime on Monday, while odds of 33/10
to net first also look tempting.
From Everton’s perspective, Calvert-Lewin has also netted 13 league goals in this campaign and his level of performance has increased massively under Ancelotti.
The 23-year-old is finally starting to show the promise that has been expected from him and he also looks a solid shout at 2/1
to score anytime against Spurs.
Brazilian forward Richarlison has also been in good form for the Toffees this season, bagging 11 in the league, and he scored the opener in the 2-1 victory over Leicester City last time out.
