Monday evening racing comes from Windsor with a nine-race card underway at 4.40pm and running through until 8.45pm.
You can watch all the action from Windsor, as with every UK and Irish race, via live streaming when logged into MansionBet and our tipping expert has some pointers for each of this evening’s races.
4.40 Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Fillies’ Novice Stakes (5f)
Nothing original here but CAROLINE DALE (4/7
*) should take all the beating having finished a very fine third in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot on her second racecourse start. Mahale perhaps didn’t see things out in the heat of the Albany at the same meeting and, on her previous Newmarket debut, is a viable threat.
5.15 Value Racing Club Handicap (5f)
It’s been a while between drinks for the likes of KONCHEK (10/3
) and Blue De Vega but both have leading claims of ending their winless sequences now. Clive Cox’s charge ran well for a long way in the Wokingham at Ascot last time, despite a tardy start. He should find this easier than many of the tasks he’s been set since a winning debut in 2018 and can take advantage.
5.45 British EBF Maiden Stakes (6f)
Richard Hannon’s Collinsbay likely starts favourite here after a good third at Doncaster on debut last month but the Royal runner won’t have it easy. IMPERIAL FORA (9/1
) is improving with racing and was clear of the remainder when second behind easy winner Cairn Gorm over C&D a fortnight ago. That race has thrown up two next-time-out winners and Rossa Ryan’s mount should be in the mix at a decent price.
6.15 Visit attheraces.com Handicap (6f)
Course winner WHO TOLD JO JO (7/2
) was a Yarmouth scorer on reappearance last month and has since run two excellent races in defeat on the all-weather at Kempton and Chelmsford. The mare Ghepardo had the selection behind in the first of those AW starts but, 5lb better off on a track he knows well, the form can be reversed.
6.45 Potwell Racing Syndicate Handicap (1m3½f)
Early morning non-runner Rake’s Progress leaves a field of seven here and takes out the each-way value but that won’t affect the selection as BRIGHT EYED EAGLE (9/4
) is a win-bet proposition. Despite being keen in a three-runner race at Goodwood last month, Ed Walker’s charge came clear for a decisive success. A 2lb rise for that looks fair and the Gleneagles colt has plenty scope for improvement
7.15 attheraces.com Claiming Stakes (1m2f)
A wide open claimer and one to tread softly punting-wise. WEBUYANYHORSE (10/1
) hasn’t built on the early promise he showed last season on turf at Newmarket. He’s been campaigned exclusively on the all-weather since and perhaps a return to grass and drop into this company can spark a revival.
7.45 Download The At The Races App Fillies’ Handicap (1m2f)
She hasn’t been out of the frame in three Windsor runs and SETTLE PETAL (8/1
) looked as good as ever when scoring over C&D eight days ago, adding to her Lingfield AW score last month. This is a tougher ask from a 5lb higher mark but she won with plenty in hand last time and may give it a real go again.
8.15 Follow At The Races On Twitter Novice Stakes Div 1 (1m)
Heaven Forfend looks a likely sort on return for Ryan Moore and Sir Michael Stoute but, at the prices, there may be some value in siding with CONSCIOUS (9/2
) as the Oasis Dream gelding showed plenty promise on debut at Kempton last month. He’s likely to have learned from that outing and can build on it.
8.45 Follow At The Races On Twitter Novice Stakes Div 2 (1m)
HOT SUMMER (8/11
) may get off the mark now after some solid, if frustrating, efforts in four starts. He was second over C&D on his seasonal return, well clear of the remainder, and sets the standard. Newcomer El Ray, with Ryan Moore on board, may prove the chief danger.
