MANY moons ago, there used to be a kebab shop in Bury called the Spice of Life.
But, after a worryingly large number of post-Roxy revellers ended up shi*ting through the eye of a needle as a result of partaking in their food, it was affectionately known forever afterwards as The Spice of Death!
I digress a bit but variety is the spice of life and I find that betting is no different – turn over the right stones and it’s amazing what you might find if you look hard enough.
VASCO DA GAMA VS. MACAÉ (8.00pm)
My first foray back into my beloved South American football sees a Brasilian Carioca Cup tie that on the surface looks to be a Goliath versus David affair but look a little further and tonight’s bout at the Estádio Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama may just have a few angles well worth exploring.
I’ll start by saying that, within reason, very few games will ever be 2/1 for both sides to net a goal – that type of price speaks volumes about a quality mismatch but, what if there’s evidence to suggest otherwise?
These two sides have met pretty much ever year for the past 8 seasons and in all but one of those games, BOTH sides have found the back of the net!
Scorelines of 2-1, 2-2, 3-0, 1-1, 4-2, 1-4 and 3-1 across those last 7 H2H’s, offer an insight into the type of game that generally occurs between these two and it paints a fairly consistent picture of goals and both sides scoring.
Interesting then, when you check out prices for these markets…you’ll see why the value radar is pinging loud and clear!
No guarantees but for me this potentially has all the hallmarks of a mispriced game.
