Mr Fixit might still be under the weather but he’s challenged me to my very own £10-£1,000 in his absence so let’s give it a go.
He’s completed a couple of them himself, which is no mean feat, so I’m going to give it a go and see how far I can get.
I normally post tips, usually including a NAP, at odds of around 4/6 to 6/4 but with a £10-£1,000 Challenge I have the luxury of taking my time – it doesn’t matter how many bets it takes to get to a grand – so it means I can focus on shorter priced bets that I wouldn’t normally put on the site.
If you’ve never done a bank-building challenge like this before here’s how it works; I’ll start with an amount I’m comfortable with – this might be £1, it might be £20 – for me it’s £10. I’ll then place one bet at a time, all singles, and then I’ll place all my winnings on the next bet. Some people might want to bank their winnings at some point during the challenge, but for me I’ll keep going with the aim of getting to £1,000.
And that’s all there is to it.

Bet No. 1
Bayer Leverkusen vs Cologne (KO 7.30pm)
It’s a huge match for Leverkusen who have an excellent opportunity to overtake Gladbach and move into that final sought after Champions league spot with a win tonight.
They host a Cologne side who haven’t enjoyed the best of returns and are still winless from their 6 matches (3 draws 3 defeats).
The home side have suffered heavy defeats in their two home matches, although to be fair they were against two of the leagues best sides in the shape of Wolfsburg and Bayern.
Despite those heavy defeats they racked up 6 corners v Munich and 12 v Wolfsburg and when you look through their corner stats, they are impressive:
- Avg 7.9 team corners per game at home (second highest in the league)
- Third highest team corners overall with 6.2 per match
This is a huge match for them and its hard to see anything but a home win against a struggling Cologne side. They should get us off to a winning start.
