THE Premier League have agreed in principle that matches will return on Wednesday June 17 with two games in hand being played; Aston Villa v Sheffield United and Manchester City v Arsenal.
The following weekend, 19-21 June will see a full fixture list played.
All going well, fans will be able to tune in to live matches on Sky Sports and BT Sport while BBC’s Match of the Day anchor Gary Lineker couldn’t hide his excitement at the return of the beautiful game.

‘Contact training’ resumed for Premier League clubs today as they took another major step towards a restart.
Liverpool need just two wins to secure their first Premier League title but there a total of 92 matches to be played to complete the season so there’s still plenty to play for in the weeks and months ahead.
The German Bundesliga is enjoying it’s time in the limelight at the moment and has been entrtaining the fans who have tuned in to live coverage on BT Sport, despite a distinct lack of atmosphere in the empty stadiums.
And, with La Liga expected to return the week before, armchair fans will soon be spoilt for choice. The Seville derby between Sevilla and Real Betis is schedule to be the first game back in Spain with plans to play the match on Thursday, June 11.
Premier Sports will brodcast La Liga games in the UK and matches are set to be shown every day of the week with late afternoon and evening kick-offs as well as evening kick-offs at weekends. Sky subscribers in the UK will be able to activate the Premier Sports channel for free throughout June. From July, they will be charged a monthly fee of £5.99.
While Bayern Munich took a major step towards the Bundesliga title with a 1-0 win at Dortmund on Tuesday, Barcelona and Real Madrid are locked in a battle for the crown in Spain so a thrilling, if belated, end to the season is all but guaranteed.
