I’M patiently waiting on prices being made available for match day 7 in the Belarusian Premier League this weekend, but before then, we have two cup Semi finals 2nd legs to contend with.
Shakhter will be looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit at home to Dinamo Brest and BATE Borisov also have to overcome a 1st leg defeat after losing 1-0 at FC Slavia Mozyr.
It will no surprise I’m focusing on the Shakhter v Dinamo Brest match after backing corners in their league fixture on Saturday and this should be another fiery affair.
Shakhter Soligorsk vs Dinamo Brest (KO 4pm)
These two must be sick of the site each other having already met 3 times since the start of the season.
Brest won the super cup match 2-0 and that was followed by a fine 2-0 home first leg victory, however, Shakhter produced a terrific performance on Saturday in the league to run out 2-0 winners away from home.
It was a surprising result and the bookies are taking no chances with Shakhter as short as 10/11 against the current league champions although with home advantage, Saturdays victory and the need to score at least twice, its not surprising.
As always it’s the cards and corners markets I’ll be concentrating on and despite Saturdays 12v4 victory on corners for Dinamo Brest, the corner kings of Belarus I’m sure will be quite happy to sit in with a 2-0 lead to protect.
It’s a really intriguing match and whilst the data points towards corners, you need to factor in its a cup game 2nd leg, Shakhter will believe they can get back into the tie. They delivered 4 corners on Saturday at Brest and have hit 5 or more in 4 of their 6 league games.
They can hit 5 again here against a side who I mentioned on last weekends podcast, concede their fair share of corners.
There was 9 cards between the sides on Saturday and its no surprise to see the bookies set markets at over 6.5 given a cup final place is at stake. With a 2-0 lead to protect Brest are a good shout to get more cards although its a bit short at 8/11.
I’m siding with Shakhter team corners in a match they have to be on the front foot.
