FOOTBALL is continuing in Belarus so that’s good for punters but maybe not for the fans and players.
Games aren’t even behind closed doors with the country’s president Aleksandr Lukashenko calling coronavirus a “psychosis” that can be cured by tractors.
If that’s the case why are Ipswich not playing their League One games and clearing Suffolk of this disease?
Belarus has under 100 cases of coronavirus with no deaths but as we know things can get out of hand if not treated seriously.
There were plenty of shocks on the opening weekend of the league and three sides who won are back in action on Friday. The games are Torpedo Zhodino vs Belshina Bobruisk and Ruh Brest vs Bgu Minsk.
Torpedo should beat a Belshina side that crashed 3-1 at home to FC Minsk and while the promoted side are unbeaten in nine visits these sides haven’t met for four years.
Ruh Brest are another promoted side and they started with a fine 3-1 win at Dinamo Minsk while Bgu Minsk shocked title favourites BATE with a 3-1 victory.
Both sides will be confident after good opening successes and best bet could be both to score. I’m putting up a double but with no points advised.
Apart from Belarus, there’s esports to bet on and not surprisingly bookies have reported big interest in the FIFA 20 Quaranteam tournament that’s raising money for MND.
There were loads of games on Thursday and more to look at on Friday so if that’s your thing give it a go.
My main weekend focus is on the pools and I’ll put up draw picks later – remember the online deadline is 2.55pm on Saturday.
