ON a normal Saturday night I’d be down the golf club watching Match of the Day with a couple of pints.
Coronavirus has taken away first football and now pubs and clubs but the upside was a night in watching the Diego Maradona film.
It reminded me what a player the Argentine was but also what a sad ending there was to his career. From the Hand of God to a drug-crazed moron. If you missed it or haven’t seen it before try catching up.
That was the highlight of my day from early morning when I backed Sean’s corners tip on Western Sydney.
Sean’s a real afficionado of the A League while I’m just learning but I have a Super Single for Monday and will put up reasoning later. Well done to him and all the other winners on Saturday.
My other bet on Saturday was on the pools and while I didn’t win I was quite pleased to pick four draws in my 10 sekections. I wonder if they’d been the draws I’d have picked for the VIP Tips.
The secret is to try and get into the minds of the Pools Panel and it was no surprise for me they went for eight score draws from the 49 on offer.
I’ll have another go this weekend to see if I can beat my 14 points.
On Sunday as far as I can see there are two games in Belarus so it’s another day off to me – but roll on Monday to Perth Glory vs Western United. And before that we have Newcastle Jets vs Melbourne City.

- (13-10, McBookie)
