CELTIC’S lead at the top of the Premiership looks too big now … and bookies agree.
Neil Lennon’s men hammered Hearts as expected and with Rangers going down 2-1 at Kilmarnock there is a 10-point gap between the Glasgow rivals.
Rangers could argue it’s seven if they win their game in hand but Celtic could say it’s eight with a vastly superior goal difference.
The sides went into the winter break pretty much neck-and-neck but the Ibrox men have shed eight points in five games while Celtic have won them all pretty convincingly.
Celtic are now a biggest 1-8 with Ladbrokes to make it nine in a row while Rangers are 5-1.
Wednesday was frustrating for me with two out of three on three trebles. It was a toss-up between btts or over 2.5 goals at Hibs and I went with the former at a bigger price. Greg’s nap was over 2.5 goals so well done there and to Scott for his members bet win after a couple of losers.
Derby losing beat the English treble and a lack of action at Lyon did the goals treble. Plenty of people fancied Inter to beat Napoli in the Cup but my Super Single choice went down 1-0 at home.
I wsn’t far away from a good night but in the end it was a poor one – and in hindsight I should have stuck big handicap bets on Celtic who I said would rout a poor Hearts side.
Well done to all the winners and there were plenty of good ones.
On Thursday it’s all about cup games with Real Sociedad just 1-3 to beat lower-league Mirandes in the Spanish Cup semis first leg while the big game is Milan v Juventus as they fight for a place in the Final.
In France it’s Epinal v St Etienne and there are two ties in Holland including Heerenveen v Feyenoord.
I’ll lick my wounds and have a look at form and stats to see if I can come up with a double or treble.
