Anytime Goalscorer Selections:
Sergio Aguero (MANCHESTER CITY vs Crystal Palace)
The incomparable Sergio Aguero enjoyed a record-breaking run out last weekend, when he hit a sensational hattrick for the Citizens in their 6-1 battering of relegation threatened Aston Villa.
After his triple goal haul, Aguero became the highest-scoring foreigner ever to play in the Premier League, and the Argentine simultaneously set a new record for the number of hattricks scored since the competition changed format all the way back in 1992.
Buoyed by his record-shattering performances against the Villains, Aguero should be armed with some serious self-belief and momentum this weekend, and we expect Crystal Palace to suffer at his hands.
Aguero also features in our anytime goalscorer tips and predictions for the weekend – read the rest of our selections and our 17/1 acca now!
Danny Ings (SOUTHAMPTON vs Wolves)
Danny Ings’ resurgence as a major goal-scoring Premier League force this season has been nothing short of remarkable, and this weekend, the red-hot 27-year old has Wolves in his sights.
Ings scored a superb nine goals in his last 10 appearances in the league for Southampton, and his expert finishing has helped to transform the Saints from relegation candidates into one of the division’s most dangerous teams on current form.
Wanderers will likely have little in the tank after their mid-week cup replay exploits against Man Utd, and Danny Ings has the running power and deadly touch to take full advantage.
Tammy Abraham (Newcastle vs CHELSEA)
Saturday’s late Premier League kickoff sees Chelsea make the trip up north to face Newcastle, and the Blues number nine Tammy Abraham will have the Magpies’ defence in his firing line.
Abraham has notched 13 league goals under Frank Lampard this season, and eight of them have come away from home as Chelsea continue to bang them in on their travels. The Englishman endured a bit of a goalscoring drought throughout December, but he has now scored in two of his last three league appearances and looks to be firing on all cylinders once again.
Abraham will come up against a Newcastle side that have shipped 10 goals in their last four top flight matches, and with just two clean sheets in their last 14 league games you can be certain that Chelsea will get chances.
Yellow Card (to be booked) Selections:
Granit Xhaka (ARSENAL vs Sheffield United)
After his controversial spat with Arsenal supporters earlier in the season, Granit Xhaka is back in favour and back in the team at the Emirates Stadium under Mikel Arteta.
The combative Swiss midfielder is generally one of his team’s most prolific purveyors of the game’s dark arts, and Xhaka has already been booked five times in all competitions this season.
On Saturday, Arsenal take on a dogged Sheffield United team in North London and with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang side-Iined through suspension, the Gunners could be in for a frustrating afternoon.
Xhaka doesn’t tend to deal with frustration well, and we think the 27-year old with the hair-trigger temper is a prime candidate to let his angst get the better of him again.

Jefferson Lerma (Norwich City vs BOURNEMOUTH)
The basement battle between bottom club Norwich and second from bottom Bournemouth on Saturday is the very definition of a relegation six pointer.
Tension is certain to be high, and with the contest at Carrow Road expected to be an intense skirmish for inches, Cherries’ hatchet-man Jefferson Lerma should feature heavily…..for all the wrong reasons.
No other Premier League player has been booked more often than Lerma so far this term, and the 25-year old bruiser is in line to pick up his 9th yellow card of the campaign against the Canaries.
Having made 18 Premier League appearances this season, Lerma tends to get carded every other game for Bournemouth, and having avoided a caution in each of his last two appearances, we think the Colombian’s next booking is overdue.
Jorginho (Newcastle United vs CHELSEA)
While cultured Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is more famed for his weight of pass, plenty of opponents have also been feeling the force of his tackling this season.
Remarkably, the Italian international is locked with Jefferson Lerma on eight bookings in 2019/20, making him the joint worst offending player in the division since August.
It’s worth noting that six of the eight bookings picked up by Jorginho were collected in Chelsea’s league games away from Stamford Bridge, and the midfielder tends to save most of his dirty work for the Blues’ matches on the road.
With his away day pattern of offending well established, we’re tipping the 28-year old to draw more unwanted attention from the referee again this weekend.
