THE only online bookie that lists SPFL and first-scorer prices for every game are McBookie.
McBookie’s Damian Walker is back with his first-scorer tips and he’s also challenging punters to pick their own.
Every week one person with a correct prediction will be chosen at random to win a £10 bet – and if you backed your tip with McBookie with at least a fiver they’ll double the prize to £20.
You can comment with your pick here and give any reasoning but to enter the contest you have to email mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk. There were no winners last week.
Quote player’s club and first-scorer price with McBookie – Scottish league games only – for a chance to win.
Here is Damian with this weekend’s selections.
He says: “I tipped Celtic to win the League Cup Final against Rangers earlier in the month but in reality I was very lucky to collect because Rangers dominated the game and should have it.
“The thing that struck me most about the game was the way in which the Rangers midfield totally dominated Celtic who just could not get a hold of decent possession.
“Although Rangers lost I thought it was an important game because it looked for the first time in a very long time as though the balance of power might be moving towards Rangers.
“As a result I think the 12-5about Steven Gerrard’s side winning at Celtic on Sunday looks excellent value.
“Part of the reason for Rangers failure to beat Celtic last time was the poor finishing of Alfredo Morelos. On another day he could have easily scored a hat-trick and I would back him to bounce back and score the opener at 5-1 with McBookie.
“Staying in the Premiership and Aberdeen look terrific value at 6-4 to win at Tynecastle. Their opponents Hearts have scored just one goal in seven-and-a-half hours of football and lost 2-0 in the Edinburgh derby last time.
“One slight blow is Dons striker Sam Cosgrove remains suspended after his red card against Celtic but hopefully Curtis Main can step up to the plate and provide the opening goal at 4-1 with McBookie.
“Finally, Elgin City look a big price at 6-1 to win at League Two leaders Cove Rangers.
“The home side suffered back-to-back defeats to Annan and then Edinburgh City before bouncing back with wins over Stenhousemuir and then Queen’s Park but odds of 1-3 look short for a side that has lost two of their last four games.
“This game is a match-up between the two top strikers in the division with Cove’s Mitch Megginson and Elgin’s Shane Sutherland joint top on 12 goals. And odds of 13-2 about Sutherland scoring first look good value.”
