There’s only two games left and it’s getting to the crunch. The playoff teams are largely decided although the positions are yet to be finalised. The AFC has one spot up for the grabs with the Steelers currently in pole position for it, unfortunately. The Titans are realistically the only team who can take that spot, that probably won’t be the case after tonight. Five teams are locked into the NFC too with the East the only question mark, either Dallas or Phillie.
Bet 1 – Marlon Mack anytime TD – 1.91 (Betfair)
Basically the same reasoning as for Chris Carson last week, the Colts are playing the Panthers who are the worst run defense in the league and Marlon Mack is the workhorse when he’s fit in the backfield. The game script went against him on Monday night hence the low carry count for him but I’m expecting him to bounce back in this one. The Panthers are starting rookie QB Will Grier so could be some favourable field positions for the Colts as well which should help.
Bet 2 – New Orleans Saints -2.5 v Titans – 20/23 (365)
The Saints are the better team in this one and need to keep up the pace to try and get a bye week in the NFC, so they won’t be able to slow down here. Now they are much better at home, and in dome games and this is outside on the grass in Tennessee but the Titans are likely without Derrick Henry who is their main weapon on offense so they’ll be significantly hurt by that. The Saints also picked up Janoris Jenkins in the week to add to their secondary so should be able to slow the Titans passing attack which has in fairness been great since Ryan Tannehill took over at QB.
Bet 3 – Greg Ward o44.5 receiving yards – 5/6 (Skybet)
I think I wrote him up last week, but the Eagles have no WRs again. Jeffrey is out for the season and Agholor is out for this one as well. Last week the only wide receiver who caught any passes at all for the Eagles was Ward and he seems to have a good rapport with Carson Wentz. They go up against an average Cowboys defense so should be able to move the ball and it’s a key game in the season of both of these teams, the winner essentially takes the NFC East and gets a playoff spot.
Bet 4 – Longshot of the week – Darius Slayton 2 or more TDs – 16/1 (Skybet)
The Giants face the Redskins in a game that I think could be sneaky high scoring. They welcome back Daniel Jones which usually increases scoring due to his propensity to turn the ball over, but also means he throws more and Slayton should be talked about in the running for OROY along with Terry McLaurin on the other side of the ball in this one. He’s scored 8 times this season, with 3 lots of 2 TDs. He’s a big lad with a bit of speed and they face a poor Washington secondary this week.
Summary
- Marlon Mack anytime TD – 1.91 (Betfair)
- New Orleans Saints -2.5 v Titans – 20/23 (365)
- Greg Ward o44.5 receiving yards – 5/6 (Skybet)
- Darius Slayton 2 or more TDs – 16/1 (Skybet)
Good Luck with whatever you’re on and enjoy the last proper week of the season (Next week will be tough to call as teams generally rest players in week 17)
