Indeed, Pep Guardiola has more star power at his disposal, however, Leicester have the leanest defence in the division and an abundance of attacking talent that will trouble a shaky City backline.
With that in mind, I’m going to back Rodgers team with a +1.75 goal start at 1.671 with Pinnacle via VOdds – a bet that would only completely fail should Leicester lose by three or more goals.
Inter v Genoa (Saturday 17:00)
After crashing out of the Champions League last midweek Inter Milan have since surrendered their place at the summit of Serie A, however, they should reclaim top spot with a win over Genoa on Saturday evening.
The Nerazzurri have made giant strides under Antonio Conte’s stewardship this term, however, the men from Milan have only picked up two points from the last six on offer and as such they can ill afford a third slip-up on the spin.
Standing in Inter’s way this weekend is a Genoa side who head to the San Siro second-bottom of the table and winless in their last six league outings.
Thiago Motta’s men last picked up three points almost two months ago – one of only two Serie A successes thus far – and a tenth defeat of the season could be in store against star-studded Inter.
Following Juventus’ 2-1 win at Sampdoria on Wednesday night, this crucial fixture will act as Inter’s game in hand over the Italian champions and provide Conte and Co with the chance to move back into first place.
Given Inter’s need for three points as well as the firepower that Conte has at his disposal, I like the look of backing the home team to overcome a -1.25 handicap at 1.892 with Pinnacle via VOdds – a betting angle that would only see you lose your full stake should Inter fail to win the match.
Marseille v Nimes (Saturday 19:45)
Marseille were being touted as title contenders in France following a run of six wins on the spin, however, a 1-1 draw away at Metz last time out has since squashed any talk of a championship charge from Los Phoceens.
Andre Villas-Boas side now trail Ligue 1 pacesetters PSG by seven points, however, Marseille can solidify their place in second spot with a home win over out of sorts Nimes.
Bernard Blaqaurt’s basement boys are joint-bottom of the French top-flight having only picked up 12 points from their opening 17 Ligue 1 outings and Nimes are now without a league win since September.
What’s more, Les Crocodiles have failed to land three points on the road this season and such a wretched run of form does not bode well ahead of a trip to the Orange Velodrome.
Marseille have already beaten Lille, Lyon and Bordeaux in their own backyard and that coupled with the fact that relegation-threatened Nimes have shipped ten goals in their last two road trips is why I’m going to back Marseille with a -1.25 handicap at 1.810 with Bet-IBC via VOdds.
