HEARTS pushed the boat out to tempt Daniel Stendel to Tynecastle and has to deliver quickly.
The Jambos achieved the impossible by playing worse under Austin MacPhee than they had been when Craig Levein was in charge.
One point from 12 has left them off the bottom on goal difference and 10 points behind sixth-placed Hibs.
Make no mistake top six will be Stendel’s target but first he’ll need to banish the threat of relegation.
We all know Hearts should be higher up and while injuries have played a part their displays have been rank rotten.
Tynecastle used to be a fortress but the Jambos have the worst home record in the league with just one win.
Stendel will hope to make his mark right away and a home meeting with basement boys St Johnstone, who have lost five in a row at Tynecastle, gives him a great chance.
Saints haven’t won away and new manager syndrome should come into play here and I’m happy to risk Hearts at 10-11 with McBookie.
If Stendel is to climb up the table he’ll be looking for Steven Naismith to lead from the front and the Scotland striker is 7-2 with McBookie to score first.
Aberdeen slipped up badly at Hibs last week but should bounce back with three points at home to Hamilton.

They’re almost champions elect but face a tough test at Arbroath today. The Gayfield side are in contention for a play-off spot and United and both to score could be the best bet at 14-5 at McBookie.
Lawrence Shankland is back in the side after injury and his winner at Morton made it five goals in five games and he is 2-1 at McBookie to break the deadlock.
Dunfermline are up third after winning three in a row after a shock Scottish Cup exit at Stranraer.
Dundee boss James McPake reckons his side can still be promoted but they won’t be in the play-offs on current form – one point from 12.
The Pars have netted nine in those three victories and I fancy them at 2-1 with McBookie.
In League One Airdrie beat me last week but I’m taking them to return to winning ways at home to Peterhead at 11-10 with betfair.
Cove’s lead in League Two is down to two points after last week’s defeat at Edinburgh City but they should return to winning ways and they are 2-5 at Sky Bet.
Edinburgh’s last four have produced 18 goals and Annan’s previous four 19 so there should be plenty of action today. Over 3.5 goals pays 7-4 at BetVictor and has a chance.
