THERE were some thrilling matches in the Champions League in midweek with the best of the lot at Spurs and Liverpool.
Spurs were stunned 7-2 at home to Bayern Munich while Liverpool edged out Red Bull Salzburg 4-3.
Brendan Rodgers returns to Anfield today with Leicester and there’s every chance of another goalfest if his men are as open as the Austrians were and as devastating going forward.
Spurs conceding seven reminded people of Rodgers doing so more than once in charge of Celtic because parking the bus wasn’t part of his plan.
His Leicester side lie third having beaten Newcastle and Spurs impressively and Rodgers will be looking to show off his team at the ground where he nearly became a legend and is boosted by the return of James Maddison.
Liverpool still boast a 100 per cent league record but have conceded in five and Red Bull exposed some weaknesses in the European champions so best bet could be a home win combined with both teams scoring at 2-1 with Coral.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are a little skinny at 4-9 with Ladbrokes because if Leicester turn up – and they are boosted by the return of James Maddison – they’re capable of taking at least a point. They are 2-1 at Marathonbet not to lose.

In the Championship it’s top v bottom and I don’t get how Swansea can be as big as 21-20 with Marathonbet at home to a Stoke side that’s collected two points out of 30.
Preston, with the league’s best home record after four wins and a draw at Deepdale, look good on accas at 7-10 with Betway at home to a Barnsley side yet to score on the road.
In League One I’ll continue to back Oxford until they slip up. They are 13-10 at Ladbrokes away to Accrington.
