This afternoon see’s another 6 clubs from the SPFL reserve league kick of their season at 2pm as Hearts host St Mirren, Kilmarnock travel to Dundee United and Morton play Hamilton
It was a terrific start yo the season yesterday with Ross County and Airdrie tips landing and I’m sticking to this league with two of the above games standing out.
Hearts should be too good for a St Mirren side who really struggle on the road and the Dundee United game should deliver some goals. I’ll have something up later this afternoon for tonight’s English games bit on the meantime, my thoughts on todays Scottish Reserve matches.
Hearts Reserves vs St Mirren Reserves (KO 2pm)
Still waiting for team news but whoever Hearts field today they should be too strong for the young saints. The Jambo’s had a good season last year and being the countries 3rd biggest side, the quality of player they will have at this level will be superior to what St Mirren have to offer.
Hearts won 8 of their 11 home matches last season whilst St Mirren lost 8 of their 10 games, winning just once. The Paisley side certainly don’t like their away trips having conceded at least 3 goals in 7 of those matches and feel they will be in for another tough afternoon in the capital.
Hearts have drifted from 4/5 to 6/5 HT/FT but so did Airdrie yesterday (10/11 into 6/4)
Will keep an eye out for team news to see which first team players are involved from both clubs.
*** Hearts are now out 7/5 HT/FT from 4/5 this morning ***

Dundee United Res vs Kilmarnock Res (KO 2pm)
The Dundee side were a big favourite of mine last season and it was easy to see why when 7 of their 10 home games delivered at least 4+ goals.
They played a high % of 1st team players in their games so be interesting to see who starts today – still fancy goals regardless and going for over 3.5 goals to land again against a Killie side who scored in all but one of their away matches last season.
