I’VE always believed that betting should be about looking for any edge over the bookies and not just about taking on the more obvious games and leagues – yes, there’s plenty to be said for it, but very often, the real value lies in those harder to reach places where there is less collective knowledge generating the prices!
There’s never any guarantees in this betting lark – otherwise it would be called ‘winning’ and not ‘gambling’ – but if you can familiarise yourself with a broader insight into certain leagues then it can make it a bit easier to navigate a card in order to turn over the right stones…
DALVÍK / REYNIR VS. TINDASTÓLL
(8.15pm)
This particular stone is made from pure volcanic rock and sits in the extreme north of Iceland nestled in the
Dalvíkurbyggð region more famous for it’s skiing than for it’s football but it’s as much about the away side’s poor travelling performances as it is about the hosts red-hot home record.
Whilst Dalvík have lost just once at home in their last successive 26 home matches, Tindastóll have been rotten on the road; 10 consecutive defeats mark a run stretching back to February where they were thumped 5-0 by mein hosts!
It may be only a 15 mile journey East for Tindastoll but it’s a journey that won’t see them brimming with confidence as the side look down the barrel of an almost certain relegation campaign and most notably (and with specific regard to value) their last 10 away days saw them defeated by at least a 2+ goal margin in 90% of games and a 3+ goal margin in a further 50%!
So, whilst you’ll have to take on at least 4 match goals to get just under evens, the handicap markets look the way too go with similar prices for less potential risk given Tindastoll’s poor away scoring form.
