It was a night of near misses last night but we have another 5 matches from the Betfred cup. Again the bookies are taking no chances and have some ridiculously low odds for some of the markets:
St Johnstone, Hearts and Ross County will all win tonight and score a few goals against Brechin, Stenhousemuir and Forfar respectively. Airdrie are looking strong and should take care of Queens Park, whilst Patrick will face a tough game against Clyde in a match that should see goals
Airdrieonians vs Queens Park (K0 7.45pm)
A side I’ve mentioned a few times already this season as a club to keep an eye out for is Airdrie. The North Lanarkshire club are determined to get up to the Championship and to to enable that they will be the only vclub apart from Falkirk with full time players on the books.
Manager Ian Murray has made a host of good signings and on paper they look like they will be towards the top end of the table come the end of the season. They’ve had a promising pre season and have performed well in the league cup, narrowly losing out to Partick away then beating Clyde 3-2 at the weekend.
They should have too much for Mark Reilly’s second division Queens Park side. The spiders have drawn against Hamilton and were defeated by Thistle, and although they will make things tough, I’m taking Airdrie to collect another three group points in what is a must win game
Recommended Bet:
- Airdrie and over 1.5 match goals
- 4/5 (Betway) (NAP)
Goals 4-fold
I looked at 3 or 4 combinations of bets tonight from the 5 matches that could have made up the NAP but I do fancy there to be goals so going to take the over 2.5 goals in the other 4 games.
- St Johnstone v Brechin
- Hearts vs Stenny
- Ross County vs Forfar
- Partick v Clyde
Over 2.5 goals 4-fold pays 3/1 (Ladrbrokes)
