The last quiet weekend of the year in what feels like its been the close season ever. Like everyone I can’t wait for the football season to start but in the meantime we have the Estonian leagues to hopefully swell coffers.
There are two matches from the Top flight today and the match between Paide and Kuressaare stands out.
Paide vs Kuressaare (KO 5pm)
Poor Kuressaarre are still having nightmares from their last visit to Paide after suffering a humiliating 7-0 hammering only a few weeks ago.
Things haven’t improved since then, a another 5-0 defeat at FCI Levedia and a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Trans doesn’t bode for a trip to one of the leagues better sides. Kuressaarre have conceded 24 goals in their last 6 away matches and I’d expect that number to increase this afternoon.
In contrast, Paide have won their last 2 home games 7-0 and 6-0 and having already dished out a hammering to todays opponents two weeks ago they’ll be confidant of producing another good performance in front of their fans
Paide have a terrific record against Kuressaare (one defeat in 15 at home) should be a case of how many they win by today.
