THE Venezuelan Nap hit the mark last night and I’m staying in Caracas for this evening’s earlier Copa Sudamericana tie.
Caracas vs Liverpool (9pm)
Caracas head into this 2nd leg a respectable 1-0 down and favourites to win the tie – there’s a good chance they’ll hit the net and have done so in all but one of their most recent games at the Estadio Olímpico de la UCV, failing against top domestic side Carabobo.
But, it’s the Uruguyan Scousers (as nobody calls them) chances of making an impact that interest me – the question is can they score and I reckon the answer is yes. They have already hit the net away from home against Brazilian outfit Bahia who are a much tighter outfit than tonight’s opponents.
They may not be world-renowned giants themselves but the side from Montevideo sit at the top table of Uruguayan football, a country whose domestic prowess and general footballing infrastructure sits above Venezuela’s own international talents.
Recommended Bet
- Both teams to score
- (11-10, bet365) NAP
