THE Scottish Reserve league has almost reached it’s conclusion with only 6 teams still to play their final match. The change from Development football to Reserve football this season has left bookies running for cover as they’ve been stung almost every week.
It’s a league I’ve enjoyed a huge amount of success with, especially backing the likes of Hibs, Dundee United and Rangers, gutted its coming to an end but hoping for more of the same next season.
Aberdeen host St Mirren today at Cove Rangers and it should be another comfortable victory for the Don’s as they welcome a St Mirren side who have been terrible away from home. I cant imagine them sending a strong side up north today.
Aberdeen Reserves vs St Mirren Reserves (KO 1.30pm)
The Don’s have been in good shape recently having won their last 3 games at home and they’ve only lost one of their last 7 matches (Away at a good Motherwell side).
They’ve scored 2 or more in 6 of their last 7 and they play a St Mirren side who have been brutal away from home, losing 8 of their 9 away games to an aggregate score of 25:8, conceding 3 or more in 7 of those games.
I’d expect it to be a young Saints side that travels up and although the Don’s are unlikely to field many 1st team players I’m taking the same approach as I did in their last Home game (3-1 win against St Johnstone) that Aberdeen will be too good and should run out comfortable winners.
No value on the Don’s winning but Half time full time is worth backing here, especially given how poor St Mirren been. especially away
Recommended Bet:
- Aberdeen Reserves Half Time / Full Time
- 5/6 (Bet365) (NAP)
Tranmere vs Buy Town (KO 7.45pm)
What a match we have in store here – Victory for Bury will seal a tremendous automatic promotion to League one whilst a home win would give Tranmere an outside chance of battling it out with 4 other clubs for that last remaining automatic promotion place.
I cant imagine Bury coming here for anything other than 3 points even though defeat would still leave it in their hands for Saturday’s finale.
Both sides have had the jitters over recent weeks but given what’s at stake and a need for points for both teams I’m hoping for an open game .
Tranmere are strong at home and should find the net against a Bury side who have shipped 6 goals in their last 2 away games. Bury are good for a goal though and its hard to see BTTS not landing.
Recommended Bet:
- Over 2.5 match goals
- 29/25 (Marathonbet)
