GAMES continue to come thick and fast in the EFL as sides try to get across the line in the race for titles, promotion, play-offs and avoiding the drop.
There’s a full card on Easter Monday – plus Chelsea v Burnley – and I’m focusing on teams who have something to play for.
On the Continent I fancy goals in the evening games between Wolfsburg v Eintracht Frankfurt and Napoli v Atalanta.
My Top Treble starts with Norwich who have been involved in some crazy games recently. Their 97th-minute leveller against Sheffield Wednesday means victory at Stoke will clinch the title and with the pressure eased I’m backing them to get across the line.
Aston Villa have all but sealed a play-off spot with nine wins in a row and should make it 10 at home to Millwall. One more win is likely to be enough and boss Dean Smith will be keen to get it and then rest players before the play-offs. Key striker Tammy Abrahams is a doubt after picking up a knock in Friday’s win at Bolton.
Make it a Championship treble with Derby at home to QPR. Frank Lampard’s men are fighting with Middlesbrough and Bristol City for sixth spot and they and City have a game in hand over Boro.
Plenty of other sides I like and I’ve also picked out a speculative 0.5pt moneyback fovefold.
My both to score treble features games at Reading v West Brom, Rotherham v Birmingham and Portsmouth v Coventry. Reading’s last five have brought up this market as have four out of five for West Brom and the last three meetings finished 3-1, 3-2 and 4-1.
Rotherham’s last seven have brought up btts as they fight for their Championship lives while Birmingham’s last three matches have ended in score draws as have two of the last three meetings.
Complete the treble with Portsmouth v Coventry. Both have scored in Pompey’s last four while Coventry’s previous away game produced that amazing 5-4 win at Sunderland as they played free-flowing attacking football.
On Sunday my Super Single of Everton draw no bet was an easy winner as they thumped Man United 4-0. I covered the stake when United hit 20-1 so I’ve taken 0.1pt off the winnings.
My goals bet started well with Dortmund landing the over themselves then Real Madrid netted a last-gasp third against Athletic Bilbao. That left me needing both to score at Real Betis v Valencia and I’ll update stats later.
Well done to all the winners and good luck with your Easter Monday bets – make them crackers.
