BARCELONA and Ajax are the first Champions League semi-finalists and the line-up will be completed on Wednesday night.
I tipped Barca to win and over 2.5 goals at Juventus v Ajax for an 8-5 winner – my only bet of the day.
It was easy for Barca but what about Ajax? The Dutch, inspired by a group of kids including teen skipper Matthjis de Ligt, blew away Juve in the second half and could have scored five or six. Their football was brilliant and Man City or Spurs won’t relish facing them in the semis.
City host the Londoners who are 1-0 up while Porto try to overturn a 2-0 deficit to Liverpool. I’ve posted a separate Champions League preview here.
Grant Heaney has posted a Man City vs Spurs preview and kevinmac has put up his thoughts on Porto v Liverpool.
Other games on Wednesday include Lazio v Udinese in Serie A with both sides needing the points from contrasting reasons. Lazio have two games in hand over the rest of the Champions League contenders while Udinese are fighting to beat the drop.
In France PSG need a point at Nantes to clinch the title and I think they’ll win after being embarrassed 5-1 at Lille at the weekend,
My double was one of the tips on my CL preview where I also tipped Messi and Ronaldo first scorers. I advised the double in the Daily Record at 10-1 as the Star Bet of the Day.
Well done to all the other winners on Wednesday including Scott with another success on the members bet and he’s in great form.
No value in the Porto game for me so I’ll look for something in the morning to add to City to win.
