REALLY small card today with the two UCL matches taking centre stage and quiet rightly so. Barcelona vs Manchester United will be one for armchair fans but the Juventus vs Ajax match will be far more entertaining and is nicely poised at 1-1.
Quite a few angles you can look at for this game Juventus can be backed to win at 8/11 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see goals but given an Ajax goal completely changes the complexion of this tie, I don’t think there will be much loved lost and with five bookings in the first leg, we should see another high card count tonight, aided by the card happy French whistler.
Juventus vs Ajax (KO 8pm)
Another champions league game and another champion’s league goal for Juventus star man Cristiano Ronaldo in the first leg – his 125th UCL league which is quite frankly ridiculous.
His goal makes it advantage Juve for the 2nd leg but with Ajax knowing they have to come here and score, it should to a cracking match.
The first leg saw 5 cards dished out and I’m tipping a similar outcome tonight, especially given the French referee Clement Turpin has been dishing out cards for fun in this years UCL.
He’s taken charge of 6 UCL match this season and dished out 27 yellow cards and three reds, averaging well over 5 cards a game and this game should get tasty late on, especially if Ajax can grab a goal.
The bookies certainly think there will be cards and have priced up over 5.5 cards at just even money. You could play it safer on the Asian Handicap at over 5 cards at 4/5 (stake returned if there are 5) but I’m going to double up with goals.
