Meanwhile, here is McBookie‘s Damian Walker with his thoughts for this weekend after landing a big two double last time out..
Damian writes: “This column nearly got the crown jewels last weekend after 10-1 shot Tony Wallace and 9-2 chance Bruce Anderson both scored first but sadly Forfar’s John Baird couldn’t complete the perfect treble.
“Hopefully there’s more success to come this weekend and I am starting in the Championship with Ayr United.
“The Honest Men have thrown away their title claims with just two wins from their last 12 Championship games.
“The uncertainty over Lawrence Shankland’s future at the club during the transfer window seemed to affect the team’s performance and that of the prolific striker himself.
“However, they have a great chance to cement their play-off position with a home game against Queen of the South who can’t score for love nor money at the moment.
“The Doonhamers have lost their last seven matches and scored just two goals in their last 10-and-a-half hours of football which is surprising given Stephen Dobbie is in their squad.
“With that background odds of 5-6 about Ayr United look extremely tempting and remember Queen of the South are just four points off bottom place.
“Shankland is still the man for goals and has 31 from 33 appearances this season and is 2-1 with McBookie to open the scoring.
“The second selection is in League One and I cannot for the life of me work out how Forfar Athletic are not favourites at home to beat Raith Rovers. Here are the facts …
“Forfar sit one point behind Raith and have the joint best home record in division along with runaway leaders Arbroath. The Loons have lost just one of their last 10 League One games – winning seven of them.
“Compare this to Raith who have won just three of their last 10 league games. Yet despite all this, incredibly, Forfar are 21-10 outsiders and the visitors 11-10 favourites.
“Forfar’s Dylan Easton has scored in his side’s last two games and is a massive 10-1 with McBookie to grab his third in a row with the opening goal of the game.
“Staying in League One and I think the bookies could be much shorter about the home side in the Stenhousemuir v Stranraer game.
“Stenny sit bottom of the table and trail Stranraer by a point and have played an extra game but are making a really decent fist of avoiding automatic relegation having lost just one of their last seven games. But it is their form in the last two games that really catches the eye.
“The Warriors shocked table-toppers Arbroath with a 2-0 away win last weekend and in midweek almost won away at fourth-placed East Fife but for conceding an injury-time equaliser.
“Mark McGuigan has been in outstanding scoring form this season for Stenhousemuir. After failing to score in his first 10 games – he has since bagged 15 goals from his next 25 matches. He has also scored in his last two games and is 19-5 with McBookie to score first.
“Can you find a winner!”
