WHOEVER planned the English fixtures this weekend has a lot to answer for.
Imagine knowing the Carabao Cup Final is scheduled for Sunday then scheduling Man United v Liverpool on the same day.
There was a decent chance United or Pool would have been in the Final anyway which would have postponed their league match.
It’s difficult to tell which is the bigger game but I suppose a Chelsea v Man City cup final just edges it ahead of a contest that could have a massive bearing on the title race.
City are aiming to complete part one of a quadruple by beating a crisis-hit Blues at Wembley.
It was 6-0 to City at the Etihad a couple of weeks ago and while Mauro Sarri will be fighting for his life I can’t seen anything but victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.
They are of course massive favourites at 3-5 with Unibet in 90 minutes while Chelsea are as big as 5-1.
Finals are rarely one side but there’s a gulf between the sides and I’m backing City -1 at 17-10 with Paddy Power.

Not much to look at in the Premier League on Saturday although the live lunchtime game sees Spurs travel to Burnley.
Spurs have recovered from a blip to win four in a row and should edge this at 8-11 with McBookie. Son Heung-Min has been in great form in the absence of Harry Kane and is 4-1 at bet365 to break the deadlock.
Newcastle haven’t played at home since beating Man City and look a good shout to see off basement boys Huddersfield who have lost 13 out of 14. Rafa Benitez’s men are 9-10 at betfair.
Wolves will be well backed at Bournemouth but I fancy goals and going with both to score at 5-6 with Unibet.
In the Championship there are some big games including Norwich v Bristol City and West Brom v Sheffield United.
Leaders Norwich have netted 16 in five and this could be another high scorer. Back Norwich and over 2.5 goals at 21-10 with Ladbrokes.
I tipped ex-Celtic Teemu Pukki to score first last week and he is 11-10 at BetVictor to net again.
League One leaders Luton should be taken tomorrow at home to Coventry at 4-6 with bet365 and today I like Doncaster at Scunthorpe at 11-10 with bet365.
Paul Scholes suffered his first defeat as Oldham boss in midweek and faces another at Bury who sit second. The home pays 9-10 at Marathonbet.
