ITS part 2 of the treble header between St Johnstone and Celtic as they meet at McDairmid Park. The sides met on Wednesday with Celtic running out easy 2-0 winners and they certainly enjoy their trips to Perth having win last 6 of the last 7. Apologies for the late post on this game, for some reason I had in my head it was a later KO.
St Johnstone vs Celtic (KO 12.30 pm)
Will keep this short and sweet – Despite having assembled the best squad at Perth for many a year, St Johnstone are still way behind Celtic and that’s to be expected given the huge gulf in resources.
The last time Celtic were in Perth they ran out 6-o winners – and looking at the St Johnstone lineup today, boss Tomy Wright is going for it with Danny Swanson and Matty Kennedy supporting Tony Watt up front.
This should leave space in behind and for us to get a result we need to be on top of our game and hope Celtic have an off day. Too much quality in that Celtic team though and I think they will run out easy winners again, similar to Wednesday’s score.
Ross Callaghan and Murray Davidson have the task of stopping Celtic in the middle of the park – both are aggressive players and love to get stuck in – can see b0th being booked today trying to contain Celtic’s quick passing.
