Inter Milan lie in wait for the victors at the Etihad tonight and they’ll be no pushovers despite being cast as underdogs regardless whether its Manchester City or Real Madrid who triumph this evening.
City are overwhelming favourites to qualify at just 2/7 while Madrid are 5/2 to make it the final for an incredible 18th time.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men are going to have to pull out yet another huge performance if they’re to book a place in the final in Turkey in June but there could hardly be a club more capable in this competition than the 14-time winners.
This time last year of course, Madrid looked dead and buried before staging a dramatic comeback in the dying stages of the semi-final second leg before going on to lift the trophy against Liverpool, so they can never be written off.
But this feels like it could be City’s year. They’ve got their eye on what could be an incredible Treble. Just one win will secure the Premier League title again and a mouth-watering FA Cup final derby against Manchester United will be one to savour.
Last season’s semi-final clash at the Etihad ended 4-3 for the home side and if we get served up the same kind of drama tonight we should be in for a cracker. Both teams to score pays 8/13 and Over 2.5 is similarly priced, whilst it’s 6/4 for Over 3.5. Combining BTTS & Over 2.5 will be popular at 20/21.
Erling Haaland might steal all the headlines when it comes to scoring goals but often the bigger the game the more important Kevin de Bruyne becomes. He opened the scoring inside two minutes a year ago and scored City’s crucial equaliser last week. The Belgian looks well priced at 3/1 to score tonight and is 9/1 to break the deadlock.
As for the result itself, Pep Guardiola’s men are 8/13 to win inside the 90 minutes whereas the Spaniards are a big-looking 17/4. Either side to win in extra-time is 6/1 and the 7/1 on the tie being decided by penalties might be worth a quid given there’s no away goals rule to contend with.
