Invictus Gaming secured their fifth victory of the season on Saturday when Kim “gideon” Min-seong and co. defeated FunPlus Phoenix (2-0). With that win, Invictus Gaming climbed to the top of the LPL 2023 Spring standings, where they sit with an 85% map win rate (11-2) and just one defeat against ThunderTalk Gaming (1-2).
Top Esports are just one victory short of catching up to Invictus Gaming, with four wins record and one loss against Weibo Gaming (1-2) during the second week of the split. They’ve since defeated Rare Atom (2-0), Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-1), and Ultra Prime (2-0), so TES are in good form, but beating those three teams is hardly something to write home about.
Top Esports are still a more talented roster than Invictus Gaming, but results-wise there is nothing to separate the two squads. It’s not too crazy to believe that Invictus Gaming can win, but since this will likely be a close affair, we prefer over 2.5 maps at even money.

ThunderTalk Gaming are not viewed as one of the best teams in the league, and with a 3-2 record, it’s tough to argue with that. Still, ThunderTalk Gaming are much better than they have shown so far, and as soon as ADC Tang “huanfeng” Huan-Feng gets comfortable with the current meta, we expect TT to improve significantly.
Their next opponent, Weibo Gaming, beat JD Gaming on Saturday. That marks their second victory against an elite opponent, as they also defeated Top Esports 2-1 in Week 2.
With wins against TES and JDG, Weibo Gaming enter this match with a more impressive record than ThunderTalk Gaming, but that doesn’t justify the current LoL betting odds. ThunderTalk Gaming can match Weibo Gaming’s bottom side, and their explosive early game can cause problems for Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok and his crew.
